Almost all natural processes occur through nonequilbrium paths and consequently, are subject to fluctuations. Therefore, it is very important to study the roles and properties of fluctuations to understand characteristic natural phenomena. The general research interest of the group is to perform proper analysis of fluctuations related to natural processes and also to figure out efficient control of fluctuations to design useful systems to carry out some intended functions.

We welcome people interested in the theoretical and computational study of the broad class of physical, chemical and biological processes where fluctuations play an important role. The candidate should have a background in Physics, Physical Chemistry or Applied Mathematics. A strong interest in Statistical mechanics will be much appreciated.

Dr. Das has performed her doctoral study at Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata and obtained her Ph. D degree in November 2015.

Then she joined as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Boston, USA in March 2016 and worked there until October 2018. After that, she worked as a Guest Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, Dresden, Germany from March 2019 to June 2021. She was employed as a Researcher at NORDITA, Stockholm, Sweden since June, 2021.

She joined IIT Mandi as an Assistant Professor in January, 2022.
